For what you pay, I’d definitely recommend Hotel Molde if you want good value. The price matches the quality, which is a little below other hotels, and may even be more than fair. The rooms aren’t consistent, though. For the same price, one might have a fridge, another soap, and some have neither. Cleaning could be a bit better too, but if you speak to the staff, they’ll pretty much sort things out the way you want. You won’t find anything close in town for the price.

The room we were given for our October 5th double-room booking was cold, very basic, and had furnishings that were visibly worn and damaged. It felt closer to a low-budget hostel than the hotel stay we thought we were paying for, based on the pictures and description on Booking.com. We were told it was one of the last rooms available. The difference from what had been advertised left us disappointed and forced us to cancel as soon as we arrived, disrupting our travel plans. The staff were friendly and willing to help, but had no alternative room to offer. They said they couldn’t issue a refund on site and directed us to Booking.com. Booking.com has now sent us back to the hotel, saying this needs to be handled by you. We urgently ask you to refund the full booking amount, either by bank transfer or by coordinating with Booking.com. I’ve attached a photo of the booking confirmation with the necessary details. Please handle any further communication by email. This has caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience during what should have been a relaxing holiday. We didn’t expect to spend so much time trying to resolve it. Please treat the refund as a priority and confirm once it has been processed. We hope you’ll act quickly to put this right.

I arrived to find the hotel closed, with nobody working and no way to check in. There was no information that it had closed, and I was left outside, unable to get in. I’ve never encountered a hotel operating like this. Stay elsewhere and pay a little extra for one of the nearby hotels.

Our group’s reservation had been made by someone else, so I probably wouldn’t have chosen this unusual place myself. The reception is in the middle of a restaurant, which felt odd, though it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. The room was fine, and I didn’t see any mold like some other reviewers mentioned. The beds weren’t very comfortable, but I’ve slept on worse. Getting to the rooms means taking the stairs, which was tough for the older people in our group. We got just one set of keys per room. That caused a small inconvenience, but we didn’t ask for another set because the reception didn’t feel like a proper one, so I’m not counting it against them. It seems like a decent budget option, though I think it could cost a little less.
