The fireplace made the place feel especially cozy, and the hotel was clean and beautiful. The receptionist was so kind and enthusiastic, too. A really lovely stay at Fru Haugans, and I can’t wait to come back.

The room had a beautiful view and was much better than I expected. It was also very clean, and breakfast was great. The waiters and chef at the buffet were exceptional. I arrived unexpectedly late at night, and the receptionist on duty was still friendly and dedicated despite the hour.

I’ve stayed here five more times since my first visit, and my good impressions haven’t changed. It’s a fair hotel and well worth staying at. The restaurants serve excellent food, and the setting beneath the mountains in the older part of Mosjøen is very scenic. The hotel also has a rich history. I hope to visit again.

The river view from the room I booked was wonderful. We also ate in the restaurant: the salmon with miso was very good, as was the apple tart with ice cream. The starter was disappointing, though, just three mouthfuls. The hotel was very good otherwise.

The top-floor room was extremely hot. There was a fan, but it didn’t help much, and the window only opened about 3 cm. I understand the safety concern with the low windows on the top floor, but good ventilation matters so much on hot summer days. We booked through an agency and didn’t have much choice, but perhaps these rooms shouldn’t be offered to guests. Otherwise, the hotel was really nice, with clean rooms, comfortable beds, a great breakfast, helpful smiling staff, a good location, and easy parking.
