We only came for dinner, and it was a pleasant fit with the mountain setting. The place felt cozy, and the food was well prepared with local ingredients. My venison was a little overcooked, though. It’s a local spot, not a high-end restaurant, and we had a nice time.

I was there for a three-day work trip, and the vegan meals were pretty odd. There was mashed potato with tomato sauce for the first dinner, then whole potatoes and tomato sauce at lunch the next day, followed by potatoes with beetroot for dinner. The chef seems to really like pairing potatoes with something red.

The staff were kind and helpful, and our room was clean. We also loved the food. We stayed there 3-4 years ago, and the place itself was beautiful, with lovely scenery around it.

We had a great time skiing just up the road, and the staff were so helpful and nice. Our cabin was spacious, cozy, and comfortable. We only booked two nights and already didn't want to go home. Would absolutely recommend it, and we'll come back :)

Paying almost 5000 nok for one night felt like far too much, and Danebu isn't somewhere we'll return to. We expected a boutique hotell, but the experience was closer to an average 3 star hotell. The standard suite felt like a family room, with a very small bathroom and poor ventilation. The bar and restaurant both had the feel of a cafe, and the food was below average. Most of the waiters seemed unsure how to do their jobs, though one or two staff members were clearly trying their best. Sorry..
