Slottet Apartments

The town wasn’t nice, and the atmosphere at the apartment was poor. I only stayed for the Trolltunga hike, but the place was way overpriced and definitely not worth it. I wouldn’t recommend it. It was also very loud. You could hear every footstep, and an alarm went off a couple of times. When we cooked or showered, we had to open a window and turn off the alarm, or it would sound. There were some things for cooking, but no kitchen towel for drying dishes. The cleaners were unkind and didn’t seem understanding. They came in while I was still there, then gave me a nasty look when I explained when I’d leave. At checkout I was charged €50 for my dog’s two-night stay, though that fee hadn’t been mentioned on the website or when I booked. I understand there can be a cleaning cost, but this was ridiculous. They should have waived it since they hadn’t disclosed it, and looking back, I shouldn’t have paid.

A handy place to stay before starting the Trolltunga hike, and one of the cheaper options. Just know that you book a room in a shared apartment, so the kitchen and shower are shared with two other people. They have nearly everything you need, though dish-drying towels are missing.

The apartment was tidy and nice, though a little old. The tap water came out yellow. I showed it to the service desk and expected they might at least offer a free bottle of water, but they didn’t offer anything.

Everything has been newly renovated and is in good shape. But if there are only two of you, it isn’t a private apartment: the kitchen, bathroom, and toilet are shared with another room, which you reach from the same main entrance.
