Quality Hotel Maritim

The mattress was pretty comfortable if you like a soft bed, and the room was fairly quiet. The breakfast buffet has a good reputation too. That's about the best I can say, though. Some staff were fairly friendly, and the night concierge was very helpful, but I wouldn't have paid 2k for this. I've stayed in youth hostels and pod hotels with a higher standard. The room felt like the bare minimum. There were no toiletries except an all-purpose soap in the shower, no desk chair, no kettle, and just one glass, apparently meant for a toothbrush. The bed was against the window wall so you couldn't sit up and read, apparently to make room for a TV nobody will use in 2026. The duvet and single pillow were synthetic. There were dried spills on the floor and a big scratch in the plaster. With no net curtains, it was either blackout curtains or the whole parking lot could see in. The worst part was the smell. I moved from my first room thinking it was a drain, but two floors down it smelled the same, damp with a hint of decay. Ventilation didn't seem to work well, and heating was by radiator. Leaving the window open wasn't practical with the bed placed there. Charging 2k a night for a place that only just does the job feels like daylight robbery, IMO.

The staff provided excellent service, and the rooms were clean and reasonably priced. It's a good hotel in the centre of Haugesund, with views over the marina.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and tidy, and the housekeepers deserve a big round of applause. The balcony doors could use replacing soon, though, since the deep dirt in the tracks makes them hard to move. Breakfast had a large range of choices, and the evening meals were good.

The room was fine but basic, and a few of the sockets didn't seem to work. Everything was clean and tidy, the air conditioning worked well, and the noise level was good. The shower was a Scandinavian-style wet room with underfloor heating, which is always nice. The breakfast was genuinely the best ever. I'm not usually a breakfast person, since I do intermittent fasting, but it was included with my booking, so I wanted to get some value for money. Glad I did. It was superb, and definitely didn't have scrambled eggs made from powder mix.
