The old village is beautiful, and the architecture and seminar rooms are both lovely and practical. The food, though, was the most boring I’ve ever had, mostly rice and defrosted vegetables. And don’t bring a dog: it’s supposed to stay inside a cage in one of the dog rooms so it won’t damage the furniture.

The location worked well between my previous stay in Oslo and my upcoming hike at Trolltunga. The rooms were private, including the bed, washroom and shower. I arrived to check in around 09:00PM on 06DEC2024, after reception had closed, but they’d made sure my room keys were ready. When I checked out around 03:00AM on 07DEC2024, a staff member offered to pack a meal for me since I’d miss breakfast. Thanks!

A quiet spot inside a Campus University, with spacious rooms and a comfortable feel. It had everything I needed, and breakfast was Norwegian style.

Breakfast was very good, and the shared spaces felt welcoming. It’s a beautiful area and building, comfortable too. I’d love to come back and learn traditional craftsmanship there.
