The reception staff were nice, but that was the only good part. The rooms looked cheap and worn, and I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant chef’s cooking. My stomach made that clear after breakfast. The restaurant toilet looked decades old, there wasn’t hand paper or toilet paper everywhere, and the way in was crowded and felt very unsafe for small children.

The breakfast was poor, and even the corridor smelled bad with an extremely dirty carpet. I was glad I only had to stay one night. The room was old and dirty, with no ventilation. The bed was awful, the sheets were dirty and the pillows worn out. There was mold in every corner, even inside the mini fridge, plus peeling paint on the walls and cobwebs on the ceiling. I can’t imagine how this place carries the Thon name or why it has three stars.

The place was dirty and falling apart, probably the worst Norwegian hotel I’ve stayed in. The minibar and toilet both had putrid black water in them. The kettle cord was so short I had to put it on the floor to boil water, and the bedside lamps were red-hot halogen ones. The bathroom light took 15 seconds to flicker on, with a loud buzz. I complained on the first night that there was no TV signal. The next day reception said housekeeping had confirmed it was out, but it still hadn’t been fixed. Avoid at all costs. You’ve been warned.

Ellen at reception was especially great, helping us figure out how to get around and suggesting places to visit. The service we got was incredible, and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and very clean for an older hotel. We’d gladly stay again.

The breakfasts were a favorite, especially the fish, and we slept like babies in the especially comfortable bed. I really liked this hotel. It had everything we needed to relax after traveling through Norway’s beautiful landscapes. Thank you very much 🇳🇴♥️
