Sauda Fjord Camping

The site sits at the end of a small fjord, with lovely views, and setting up our tent was straightforward. We arrived after reception closed, but checking in and paying online by phone was fairly easy, and the staff were helpful when we called. There are two older service buildings with toilets and showers, both still functional. Because we registered online and didn't get an electronic campsite card, we had to use the coin showers, 10 NOK. A good place to stop for one night.

The family who run the place were friendly and happy to help with anything. Our campervan pitch was right by the water with a great view, and the site was quiet and relaxing. The toilets, showers, and kitchen and dining room were spotless. At £31 for the night, including electricity and showers, it was good value. I'd happily return.

We found it a great place to camp even in bad weather. We stayed two nights with a rooftop tent during a heavy storm, and the woman at reception was friendly and warned us about it. We moved from a pitch under a tree before nightfall because we felt safer elsewhere, and that was no trouble. Warm water for washing dishes is included, though showers cost extra. Nice place for fishing, too.

For one night with a camper, two adults, and a child, the bill added up quickly. Everything is charged separately, including electricity and showers, and the price did include only 15 minutes of shower time. The facilities are old.
