We stayed one night in this old ski hotel, which badly needs renovation. They were flexible about adding our child to the room, but didn't provide an extra bed or towels. Luckily, we'd brought a tent mattress and sleeping bag. Breakfast was a bit sad, though it fit the state of the hotel.

There’s lovely nature all around, with reindeer wandering nearby, and it’s a great base for hiking. WiFi only worked in the common areas, which was fine. The food was excellent and the staff friendly. The seasonal Scandic Hotel is basic, about 5 km from Honnibgsvåg and 25 km from the North Cape globe. Rooms and facilities are old but charming. If I understood right, these were barracks used for the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer 1994. Still good value compared with other local options.

The buffet was good and the location is great, though the price felt a bit high for what you get. The hotel is old, but still pretty good overall. The fire alarm went off at 6:30 a.m.!

Dinner was awful, with very few choices and no taste at all. Breakfast was just as disappointing, the juices were mixed up and weren't what had been promised. No waffles either, which seems a shame in Norway. When I raised all this at checkout, they didn't offer anything or even say much in response. I wouldn't recommend it.

The view was the highlight, and the service was good too. The room was fine for a stay, but I did miss having a kettle in it. Still, well worth staying here.
