It's only about a two-minute walk from the hotel to the harbor, so you won't have to lug your bags far. The room was clean, though there were no slippers, which could be inconvenient if you like taking your shoes off indoors. This little island feels like a hidden gem, even if most tourists head to Tromsø. Prices are lower here. The restaurant's menu prices are similar, but the servings are much bigger, and I often found one meal could do for two. I'd choose lunch or dinner at the hotel restaurant. Breakfast was fairly simple and isn't something I'd especially recommend.

Dinner and breakfast at the hotel were both great and well looked after, and the staff were very friendly. Check-in was smooth, the room was clean and had the listed amenities, the shower pressure was good, and the beds were comfortable, if a bit too soft. We stayed one night for a whale watching tour, as many guests do. It's the only hotel in town, so there's not much choice. The building is somewhat dated, but we had a good stay and can certainly recommend it.

Breakfast was yummy, and the place had a bit of charm. But my room's radiator was noisy and gave off no heat. The morning receptionist was rude and obnoxious, just shrugging when I raised the issue. Then they tried to charge me for a dinner I hadn't eaten. The single beds were so soft they'd be terrible for anyone with a bad back. Disappointing, okay at best.

We reported the noisy toilet and were told the manager would be called. No one came to the room, and nothing was done. The manager was missing in action. Basic maintenance is needed: the bathroom light switches were faulty, and the toilets were leaky and noisy. Disappointing.

There's some charm to this very basic hotel, and everything was clean. The bathroom is quite run-down, which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 4. Breakfast included a nice variety of local fish salads to eat with bread, and the breakfast hall had a lovely mountain view.
