Whale watching and dog sledding made this the most amazing holiday I’ve ever had. The staff were so friendly, and the owners clearly care about giving guests a special, one-of-a-kind experience. I’ll be recommending Arctic Panorama Lodge to everyone I know!

The food was a treat, especially the outstanding bread at breakfast, and we enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner. Our superior suite was warm and comfortable, with a lovely view, and it was a great place to unwind after exploring. We even got to see the Northern Lights. Arctic Panorama Lodge is on a remote island reached only by boat. The quiet, peaceful setting and beautiful views made it feel like our own little paradise. Svein Jakobsen was a warm, engaging host with fascinating stories and a deep knowledge of Norway and his island. We had an unforgettable stay and would love to return.

It felt like a fairytale, both the surroundings and the atmosphere, and the people were even lovelier. I could hardly believe it was real. Highly recommend!

The ferry wasn't running on our departure day because of a snowstorm, so some of us had to change flights and stay longer in Tromsø. The weather was outside anyone's control, though, so it really came down to luck. Despite that, this was a wonderful place, more like a relaxed stay where everyone spends time together than a regular hotel. We spent four days here, and Svein, the owner, was amazing. The activity packages were well organized. Days could be pretty scheduled, but there were still breaks to ourselves. On Tuesday we went whale watching from Uløya, out into the fjords, and got lucky with the weather. We went again on Thursday, this time as an extra tour that cost more. Thursday's weather was perfect, with a colorful sky. On Wednesday we took the husky sledding tour in Reisa National Park. Seeing the Northern Lights depends on luck too. They try to serve food from the region, though for this price range it could be better. Still, everything else was so great that it didn't bother us much.

The spa was a highlight, especially on stormy days, and Tor went out of his way to make our stay brighter. Our cabin was cozy, with good beds, heated floors, and inviting shared spaces. The setting itself is lovely and peaceful. We stayed at Arctic Panorama Lodge in March 2025. A booking problem meant we missed our original dates and the chance to celebrate our 20th anniversary there. The meals were fresh but repetitive, and my husband got sick during our stay and received little support. A winter storm also kept us from some planned activities, though the lodge refunded those. A few practical things to know: there are no shops on the island, so bring snacks and drinks, including alcohol if you'd like to save money. Food isn't available outside meal times. Meals are served on a schedule: breakfast at 8-10am, lunch around 2pm or as a packed meal, and dinner at 7pm. You only find out the menu at mealtime, and it often centers on fish and boiled potatoes. You'll carry your own bags across several transfers, including a ferry, so pack light and keep your hands free. Bring warm waterproof layers in case bad weather cancels excursions and you spend the day inside. There are no TVs in the rooms, so books, games, or downloaded shows can help fill a quiet evening. The spa is excellent, so book a service. Northern Lights sightings are never guaranteed, since the weather is unpredictable. This place suits people who enjoy a quiet, remote getaway and can roll with weather changes and a long journey. For us, the experience didn't quite measure up to the effort it took to get there, though we did have some memorable moments.
