X Hotel

The rooms are tight, the beds aren't very comfortable, and the setup can feel like a college dorm or a hotel for a college basketball team. Still, the price is perfect, and it's useful for a conference or a stop before heading out into the wilderness. Breakfast was phenomenal. There's plenty of fun to explore, especially with a kid or if you're a child in an adult body. The whole idea seems to be that you spend time socializing and doing activities around the property instead of staying in your room. It's a strange, funky place, and the more you explore, the harder it is to hate.

The hotel is about 20 minutes from downtown, which can make it feel secluded. Still, it's good value for money, with clean, spacious, well equipped rooms and friendly staff who are very accommodating.

Parking was frustratingly unclear. At check-in, I was told to pay when leaving, but at check-out I was told I should have been paying a daily rate. The bedding was a more serious problem: when I checked under the sheet, it was visibly dirty, with bugs and a lot of hair left by a previous guest. The room felt unhygienic and unsafe, and this was a major housekeeping failure. As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite member, I chose Moxy X Hotel in Oslo despite its less-than-ideal location, expecting the brand's usual service and quality. Instead, this was a profound disappointment and the worst Marriott property I've stayed at. The state of the bedding alone needs serious management attention. I strongly advise against staying here.

The lobby was a lively place to hang out, with comfy sofas, board games, a well stocked bar, and a 24/7 shop for snacks and essentials. Check-in was easy, and I got to choose a ground floor or upper floor room, a thoughtful touch. My minimalist room was spotless and wonderfully quiet, and I slept soundly every night. Housekeeping did an outstanding job each day, including evening turndown with fresh towels and a neatly made bed. Breakfast was served 6:30-10:00 on weekdays and 7:00-11:00 on weekends. The buffet had hot dishes, fruit, cereals, pastries, and more, plenty to fuel a day of exploring. Dinner choices at the hotel were limited, but the 24/7 snack bar was handy for late bites. There aren't many restaurants within walking distance, though Wolt was a lifesaver. I ordered burgers, sushi, and local specialties, all delivered to my door without a hitch. The lifts were impressively fast, with no queues even at peak times. I also noticed an indoor kids' play area and outdoor games like giant chess and mini golf. The hotel is in a quiet, green part of scenic Skjetten, yet just minutes from Lillestrøm's shops and cafés. Lillestrøm station is a short drive away, with direct trains to Oslo Airport and the city centre, and the nearby E6 makes driving easy. Whether you're visiting for business at Exporama or a relaxing weekend, Moxy Oslo X offers style, comfort, and convenience.
