Veiholmen Brygge

The cheesecake was good, and the staff were nice. The burger, though, was just a couple of slabs of precooked meat. Nothing special, and certainly not worth 300nok.

There’s a broad menu of fish and meat, plus one of the best pizza selections I’ve come across. The food at Veiholmen Brygge is really high quality. Try the whale carpaccio to start, then go for the fish, grill platter, or one of those pizzas. Highly recommend it.

The rooms weren’t something I can comment on, but the meal was one of the best I’ve had in Norway. Great food and fantastic service, with an amazing view over the quaint harbor.

The food didn’t live up to what I expected from the other reviews, especially given the high prices. The location is great and the restaurant itself is cozy. The area behind the glass wall is nice, though a poorly placed connection point gets in the way of the view. Service was okay, but the welcome when we arrived wasn’t very warm. The meal started strongly with delicious carpaccio, the standout dish, though it could use some bread. The onion rings were crisp and cooked just right, but too oily. Their aioli tasted good. The oven-baked halibut had good flavor, but was overcooked and still had a few bones. It came with an aioli that didn’t seem right for the dish, possibly the same one served with the rings. The ribs were average, and the jacket potato was bland. Butter or something more suitable, like sour cream, would have helped. I didn’t try dessert. I visited the restaurant only, so I can’t speak to the accommodation.
