Stalheim Hotel

There’s a restaurant on site, and I’d stay here if I came back. We only stopped to see the view, but the hotel itself is gorgeous. They let travelers walk through to the rear to take in the scenery.

I paid 170 euros to sleep here, and it felt outrageous. The carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages, and the walls were stained and dirty. The whole place badly needs renovation. I haven’t seen a hotel this dirty in a long time, and it’s starting to feel like a health hazard. If you have allergies or asthma, stay away. Most guests seemed to be on bus tours. It looks like the owners are trying to milk those contracts instead of putting money into maintenance.

We came all the way from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Norway, and room 324 made that night spectacular. The rest of the hotel was extraordinary too, so the whole experience felt worth it. Thanks to all the staff, and especially Emillia for the amazing service and beautiful smile. We’ll always remember you.

The terrace has great views, and the coffee was decent. The souvenir shop was nice and not expensive, with prices similar to Bergen. If you’re on the Norway in a nutshell tour, they give you a free lefse treat. Give it a try.
