The airport taxi arrived 30 minutes late, which left us missing bag drop and only just reaching the gate in time. Our luggage went on a later flight, though that delay wasn’t Clarion’s fault. During the conference, we also lost over an hour of our reserved room time because another group was still using it. We’d been told we could come in the night before to prepare, so there wasn’t much time left to get set up. The coffee and snacks during the conference were underwhelming too. Dinner was just all right, and the service was OK. At 6pm, we were told the restaurant was full and waited an hour, even though more than ten tables looked available. Breakfast was decent, but the bacon was soggy. My room was next to the gym, and the treadmill kept me awake late at night and early in the morning. I also couldn’t connect an HDMI input to the TV. This stay fell short of what I expect from a Clarion, and felt very average.

The rooms were bright and airy, and the service was efficient all the way through. They even helped me get a lighter, and served the loveliest hot chocolate. Clarion Hotel Energy was a warm, comfortable, caring start to my trip.

We had a great time at our work Christmas party. Everything was well organised, the food was great, and the service was really good. The hotel is nicely decorated and cosy too. I’d recommend it for a party or just dinner.

Karoline handled everything quickly and attentively when I arrived late at night. I’ve only stayed one night so far, but it already feels like home. The hospitality is great, and this hotel deserves a higher rating.

This was my second business stay here. The hotel was busy, but the bed and breakfast were good value. It’s a 40-minute walk from the centre. The rooms are large, though a bit dull, and my bathroom had a good shower and Ritual toiletries. Breakfast has a good mix of hot and cold options. The bar wasn’t great: the beer was poorly poured and expensive, even by Norwegian standards. Parking is nearby, about a five-minute walk. Reception staff were helpful and friendly, but they forgot to register my car after I paid for parking in advance. Luckily, I discovered this while paying for other parking. I could have been fined; they refunded me, but the fine would have been costly.
