The breakfasts are so generous they could easily keep you going all day, which is handy if you're traveling on a budget. The B&B is central, feels safe, and stays quiet. It’s full of lovely antiques, and the owners are kind and very accommodating. I’d happily stay again. Ask for an upper-floor room if you can. The ground-floor rooms are right by the street, and although it’s quiet, you need to keep the curtains shut for privacy.

We had such a lovely stay, though I wish it could have been longer. The B&B is beautifully furnished, especially the spectacular dining room, and breakfast was delicious. The warm, welcoming hosts, Paul and Wenche, made it even nicer. We also had some really interesting conversations with them. Thank you!

The breakfast was charming and very good, and the central location puts you just a few minutes’ walk from Stavanger town centre. I felt like I was visiting family, and would recommend this over the nearby chain hotels. The room itself was very nice and charming, with English-style decor and touches from someone who had lived in the Far East for a while. My only reasons for not giving the room a full score were that the bed felt a bit hard and some hallway noise came through the door.

Wenche even packed us breakfast to take along when we had to leave at 4am on our last day. She also gave us recommendations and information whenever we needed it. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was served in a beautiful room. Our room was cozy, with twin beds in an old-fashioned style, a modern bathroom, and a nice balcony. The house has a lot of history and is decorated with objects from the owners’ travels. Wenche and Paul are lovely hosts who make you feel at home. We really enjoyed the three days and were sad to leave. We’d definitely recommend Darby’s.
