Stavanger Housing Hotel

After two weeks on the road, the washer-dryer was a real highlight. The apartment was small, freshly renovated, and very nicely equipped, with the city centre only a five-minute walk away.

The room had all the facilities we needed, but it felt very uncomfortable. A huge window facing the living room meant people from the inner yard could watch you. The hotel itself is okay, yet there’s little reason to come back, and its location on a hill is awkward for guests without a car.

Parking took a bit of sorting out, but the landlord gave us a useful tip: EasyPark works well, including for charging an electric vehicle just around the corner. With the right code from the landlord, we could park all day and avoid the two-hour limit. We paid about 20 Euro a day. The beds weren’t comfortable for us. They’re very soft, and we prefer something medium-soft to firm, so we slept badly. One of us ended up on the living room floor the second night. We stayed two nights as part of our Norway trip. The Stavanger Housing Hotel suited our plan to stay centrally without needing public transport or the car. The city sights are easy to reach on foot. The room was very clean, had a good kitchen, and the area was remarkably quiet for being in the city, so we could leave the windows open. Information about the room and keycodes was good and arrived on our day of arrival, as promised.

It’s a quiet, pleasant neighborhood, about a five-minute walk from the bus station and ten minutes from old town Stavanger and the restaurants and pubs. The room had everything we needed for vacation: a washing machine, dishwasher, kettle, kitchen utensils, toiletries, and drying rack.
