The staff helped us figure out which attractions and hikes to visit. The shared lounges are spacious, with big windows looking out over the valley, and breakfast is included with a good range of food. Rooms are clean but basic and small, with narrow beds. There’s no bedroom AC, though it cools off at night, and the windows open all the way for a spectacular valley view. Videfossen waterfall is right beside the hotel.

The owner Maiken was so welcoming, friendly, and humble. My parents and I had a really interesting conversation with her about Norwegian culture and the cities we’d visited. The hotel itself is one of the nicest I’ve been to, in a prime location. My father comes back every year for their Sider drink. It’s a must visit if you’re in the area.

The room was comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast were tasty. It has a cozy feel inside and such a peaceful atmosphere. The original hotel was destroyed in an avalanche, so they decided to rebuild it. Good luck, guys!

You mainly stay here for the location, and most guests seem to pass through for just one night. The rooms are spartan, and breakfast had maybe the worst eggs I’ve ever eaten. When I asked the staff about local hikes, they said there weren’t any. I think they were seasonal workers, not the owners, and they mostly sat outside smoking instead of looking after guests.
