Suldal Hotell

The rooms were spacious and clean, and I’d especially recommend a deluxe room with a fjord view. Breakfast was self-service, with enough to eat and a good range of quality items. The hotel itself is older, but the owner clearly tries to make guests comfortable. Check-in and checkout were both very straightforward.

The interior at Sundal Hotell feels dated, but that didn’t stop us from having a comfortable, enjoyable stay. It was spotless, and the friendly manager made us feel welcome. The value is hard to beat for an affordable place to stay. I especially liked the self-service breakfast room being available 24/7, so we could eat when it suited us, and there were snacks available during the day too. Sundal Hotell is a lovely find, and I’d recommend it for its warm welcome, cleanliness, and good value.

The staff were easy to chat with, whether we had a request or just wanted a casual conversation. Breakfast had plenty of different options, and checkout was later than at a typical hotel, so there was no need to rush in the morning. We also enjoyed the sea view and the lounge, which worked well for the whole family. I’d happily come back. Wishing the owner and staff all the best!

Terje was a real help, suggesting some great places to see and even calling around to check whether the mountain pass had opened for the summer. The view and the staff are what make this hotel special. It has the basics covered too, with clean, comfortable rooms and breakfast. Just keep in mind that reception isn’t open around the clock, so call ahead if you expect to arrive late in the evening. The area is gorgeous, and we’ve found a great place to stay. We’ll be back.
