The setting and views are amazing, and there’s a nice terrace plus some space for younger kids. The hotel is old but renovated, and it seems the owner wanted to create a place with some soul. There’s still plenty to improve, though. The rooms have been renovated, but some details need attention: no mosquito screens on the windows, no air conditioning, and no TV. There’s no kettle in the room either, just one in the main corridor. The sauna and hot tub cost an extra 340nok per person for 2h. I cancelled my booking on 02.08.3025 because nobody had cleaned them between guests.

The building has a great atmosphere, and its location near lots of good hiking trails and amenities made up for the dated room, at least for us. There weren’t any pots or pans to use with the stove in the room. Breakfast had a great spread, and the lobby was a nice place to sit and enjoy the views.

The beds were very good, and the room was spacious, clean, and had a great view. The bathroom had been renovated nicely, but the room and furniture felt worn. One nightstand was nearly falling apart, so the room could use an upgrade. We had a nice one-night stopover. The staff were very friendly, dinner was really good, and breakfast was fresh and good. There’s also a sauna and bubble pool overlooking the fjord, with some nice hikes nearby. I’d stay again.

The only small drawback was that there’s no restaurant. We went to Garsnes Camping for dinner, and it was no hardship since the food was great. The hotel has a fun, individual feel, with all sorts of things to look at and ponder in the lobby. It was also the first place with a green roof that we’d stayed in. Our room was modern and roomy enough to be comfortable, and the bathroom was a good standard. The service was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good quality Norwegian style, with brown cheese, waffles, and rather nice smoked salmon.
