The owners made us feel welcome and were really helpful. The traditional lodge was comfortable enough for those long June days spent fishing. A stay I'll remember for fly fishing.

We came for the cottage's cozy, old-fashioned feel, and it really does feel like a farm house from the early 20th century. A few modern touches aside, it brought back the feeling of being at my grandmother's place. The mountain views are lovely too. There’s no running water or gas inside, and the toilet and shower are outdoors, though there is running water there. Heating comes from an electric stove. If you want somewhere to switch off from the world, this fits. Stefanie was a wonderful host, and we loved breakfast. It may have felt a bit stuffy, but that was entirely our own doing 😄. The whole visit left a lasting impression, and we hope to return. With love, Antons and Anastasija from Latvia!

The canoe trip to the lake's mossy little island was a highlight. Its quiet shore felt like the heart of the peace and calm this place offers. Escapade Norvégienne is in a charming spot with very few people around, and the cabin felt warm and snug as soon as we arrived. Breakfast the next morning was a real treat: homemade croissants from our French hostess, strawberries picked from the garden, fresh bread, and a spread of meats and cheeses. The coffee was delicious too, though after such a good night's sleep and a chance to recharge, I almost didn't need it.

The French cooking by the lovely hostess is AMAZING, definitely worth trying, and the stay was great value. The hosts were wonderful, and the Norwegian scenery around this beautiful spot feels special. It was like stepping back into a simpler, lovely way of life. They keep hens, so breakfast includes fresh, excellent eggs, and their dogsled dogs are available for trips. If you want to explore Norway's beautiful outdoors with good guides, this is the place. You can also arrange a fishing trip with your own guide. Best place to stay in Tolga.

That cozy atmosphere and beautiful setting reminded me of childhood visits to my grandmother's farm. The breakfast was incredibly delicious too.
