Quality Hotel Tonsberg

The hotel is right by the sea, with lots of restaurants nearby and a concert venue in the same complex. Service was great and breakfast plentiful. I stayed in a separate building, where the room was small and had very little to it. There was no iron, water boiler, or way to make coffee, and the price felt quite high for the size.

The rooms are nice, the location is great, and there's a free rooftop pool and sauna.

The rooms are nice, though a little basic. You do get the rest of the hotel, with great food, a great bar, and excellent staff.

The breakfast was excellent, with lots of quality fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat, bread, and pastries. The attendants kept clearing tables quickly and made more room when needed. We also ate at the ground floor restaurant, where the servers were attentive. Staff were kind and thoughtful: when we celebrated a birthday, they brought cakes, a balloon, and a card. Parking was convenient but expensive. Our superior room was clean but a bit dated. It had a kettle but no minibar, and the bed and pillows were fine. The bathtub was a nice treat, though the shower was only so-so. We had a lovely view of the boardwalk, but it was quite loud at night. We didn't try the top bar. The rooftop pool is open to regular hotel guests in the morning, but costs extra to use in the afternoon.
