Hotel Klubben

The restaurant and breakfast both serve good homemade food, and the staff are very service minded. The hotel has been fully refurbished and has nice views from many rooms. The only small drawback is the limited indoor parking, though there are plenty of spaces on the street. An excellent hotel in Tønsberg.

The food in the restaurant was really good, and the staff were great. My room was large and nice, though oddly there was no desk to work at, which seems strange for a conference hotel. There was a big sofa and a very low coffee table instead. I also had trouble finding the bedside socket because it pointed into the side of the mattress. The hotel is close to both the train station and downtown. I've changed my rating to four stars since it looks like I just got a room without a desk.

The breakfast was very nice, but the air conditioning wasn't working, even though there was a control panel in the room. That might have been okay if they hadn't told us on the phone that it worked when we booked. The receptionist said she'd check whether we could move to a room with a window that opened properly, but we never heard back.

We came for the roof terrace, which looked like it should be lovely. After we sat down, staff ignored us for more than 20 minutes, and we couldn't order drinks. We asked for service twice, then left. Based on that experience, I can't recommend the place unless the staff show more attention and care.
