The meals were tasty, and the gluten free options were excellent. I especially loved the delicious gluten free cakes at afternoon tea, such a lovely idea. Helpful, friendly staff made the hotel feel relaxed and welcoming. It's a lovely place, with a great location and beautiful views.

The included meals made a real difference on my 7 day stay. Breakfast was generous, and fika with afternoon cake and dinner were delicious. In Tromso, otherwise you'd spend your whole budget on food. Tea and coffee were available downstairs whenever, and the sauna was nice. From my windows, you might even see the aurora if you're lucky. The gym was basic and didn't open until 10am, much too late for my usual morning exercise, which was a bummer. The rooms were small and hadn't been recently renovated, with more of a budget feel than I expected, though not terrible. The location was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. A good place overall.

The staff in both the front desk and restaurant were exceptional. Breakfasts were great with lots of choices, and dinners were good and came with salad. If you're here for northern light tours, though, dinner may not work with the timing. My main issue was value: we paid 400 euros per night, yet our rooms weren't cleaned once during our 4 night stay. The carpet had enough stuff on it that I found a vacuum, but it didn't work great. We did get fresh towels one day, and there was a rolling shelf of them outside our door so we could take more whenever we wanted. The bathroom light is supposedly on a motion detector, but it goes out whether you're moving or not. The location was ok. There's a glass of wine available from their closet-sized bar, but that's about it, and the only place to sit outside your room is the dining area. I'd probably stay at the Radisson next time.

We stayed here for two separate nights between a five night trip to skjervoy. It's a nice waterfront hotel, about 400 metres from the ferry terminal, with friendly, helpful front of house staff. The standard rooms are a bit small, but we paid a small fee to upgrade to a superior room and had decent space and two good chairs. Breakfast is continental with a good range, and free fika is a nice extra. Dinner was included in the price, but our travel times meant we didn't get to try it. Good hotel, and I'd stay here again if I came back to Tromso.

On my fourth visit to Tromsø, I tried this hotel for the first time and really liked staying here. It's closer to “downtown” than I expected, with everything you need nearby. The room had a decent view and three windows that opened. I took a taxi to and from the airport this trip, and it wasn't too expensive. Upstairs there's a nice sauna and exercise room, with white terry cloth robes provided for the sauna. Breakfast was good, and there was afternoon fika, though it was just cookies or a small pastry. Dinner had a wonderful selection of salads, which suited me as a mostly vegetarian. There was also always a brothy soup, with rice, quinoa, and other things to add. You can buy wine ir beer if you want. The coffee was lousy, but there are great cafés close by.
