The cabin was very nice and its facilities were in good condition. Getting there on foot is the drawback: it's up a hill, and in winter it's hard without spikes. Bus 40 only comes every 30 minutes, so I'd say this place suits people with a relaxed schedule better than travellers short on time.

I liked the view, and self check-in was simple with clear instructions, but I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. The location is inconvenient: the center is over 20 minutes away on foot along an icy road, and there are no shops near the house. Checkout is at 10am, and I couldn't leave my bags until my flight. The owner said, “Please ensure that: The room is fully vacated by 10:00 All personal belongings are removed Remaining in the property after check-out time is not permitted and will be registered as an unauthorized stay.” The bathroom was freezing whenever I went in, as if there was no heat or it had been switched off. During my three nights, I never saw anyone clean, the floors were not very clean, and the bathroom hand towel wasn't changed. The pillowcase and quilt had stains that looked permanent, even though they seemed clean. The bunk bed was in bad shape too: the ladder to the upper bed was unstable and the wooden handhold looked close to breaking. It needs proper repairs or replacing.

I came for the Tromso marathon and used Luna Home as a base for trips north and elsewhere, returning for more stays. It felt like staying with friends: guests shared food and looked out for one another, almost like a family. The location is great, about 1 k from the sentrum on foot, with a bus stop a two-minute walk to the left and a mini market a couple hundred metres to the right. There are also plenty of running routes nearby. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, with utensils, a big fridge and freezer, an oven, a coffee machine, and more. The beds are comfortable, and rooms look out over either the harbour or trees. You can do laundry and dry it here too. Mr Miguel was a lovely host, checking in and offering help or anything else we needed, like an elder brother. I liked the place so much that it's set a very high bar for anywhere else. I have no hesitation recommending it to discerning travellers.

This was the worst landlord I've encountered in all my travels. The service was poor, communication impatient and insulting, and I never received the agreed password. Nobody was at the hotel, so getting in felt like playing an escape room and finding my own way through. The location was inconvenient, and the listing didn't clearly say that the rooms were mixed gender. In reality they were. There was only one bed in the room, so I had to share it with a strange man, which was frightening. Around 11:30 at night, a tall, heavy man came in smelling of alcohol and sweat. The bed shook whenever he turned over, and he snored all night. I barely slept. If it hadn't been stormy and so hard to get transport in the middle of the night, I would have run away. After packing in the morning, I waited for staff to come clean so I could leave my luggage. No one showed up from 9 to 10, so I called the landlord to ask about storing it. He flatly refused and told me to leave his house immediately, in a cold and harsh tone. I had already checked out and left the room before 10:00; I was just waiting in the lobby to hand over my bags when someone arrived. He acted as though I'd delayed checkout and nearly shouted at me. I'd travelled more than 10,000 kilometers to get here, and the experience completely ruined my mood and expectations for the trip. I can't understand how this landlord has good reviews. With that attitude, his business deserves to fail. Don't book this awful homestay or you may end up with your whole trip spoiled too.

I had a lovely three-night stay, met people from all over the world, and found everything I needed for doing things around Tromsø. The living area was cozy, and the view over Town was great. The owner was helpful when I needed advice about using the stove, and I'll come back when I'm in town. Thanks, Miguel! I'm not sure what the previous review was about. Calling the place a scam because someone couldn't open a door doesn't seem fair. It may have been a misunderstanding, but the place is real and you can open the door.
