The cottage was basic, but it was warm and dry, with exactly the sort of space a family needs for a self-catering break. We had an amazing time and would recommend Hyttegrend to families looking for a relaxing country or ski holiday. The rural setting by the river and mountain was just right, and the snow-covered surroundings felt magical. Trysil town is only 2km away and the ski lifts are 5km away. Having a rental car made getting around perfect for us.

We stayed in a cabin with its own bathroom, so we can’t speak to the shared sanitary facilities. Our cabin was clean, comfortable, in excellent shape, and well equipped. The campsite grounds are kept up very well, and the location is stunning. A clear recommendation!

The views are spectacular, and the whole place has such a peaceful feel. It’s an easy drive to the slopes, and you can rent mountain bikes on site. The kitchens are fully stocked, too. Ivander, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating. It’s easy to see why this place gets such consistently high ratings. Heavenly.

Skibus stops right outside the door, so the location works well even if you don’t have a car. Our beautiful cabin had everything we needed, and sits beside the river with a view toward the mountain. We had a wonderful time at Hyttegrend.
