Trysilfjell Apartment Hotel

This was our second year staying in the apartment. It’s right by the slopes for ski-in, ski-out access, and the place is clean and comfortable, with everything needed to prepare meals. The location is brilliant.

A stone’s throw from the downhill slope. The place was basic but clean and tidy, and okay for a stay. The lower bunk was awkward to get into, though that may have just been the room we had. I only interacted with staff at check-in.

We found it cozy and inviting, and good value for money. In autumn the location worked well, with the playground right outside our mountain-view apartment. The supermarket, chairlift, Eventyrpark, and bike trails are all a short distance away, though Gullia trails are a bit farther. The renovated bathroom was a highlight, as was the kitchen with a freezer, fridge, microwave, oven, and dishwasher. It was great for cooking at home, but bring basics like salt, spices, and frying oil. Dish towels, cleaning cloths, and dishwasher tablets were provided, and towels and bed linen were waiting for us. There’s room to improve the bike storage. It was small and chaotic, and we had to keep our bikes in the apartment. The apartment was cold when we arrived, and the touch display made the slow floor heating hard to operate. The electric heaters under the windows warmed things up quickly. The Google TV didn’t work. We were told the system was new and just hadn’t been configured yet, but it couldn’t be set up during our stay. The pendant lamp was also oddly placed right in front of the screen. The parking system takes some figuring out, and there’s no free parking anywhere in the area. We parked in the garage at the close by Trysil Lodge, where dropin charging for our electric car was available. The sauna wasn’t in use, unfortunately. Hot tip: if you don’t want to make breakfast, you can book it at the Hill Restaurant (Radisson Blue hotel) for ca 200kr/Adult.

The apartments are close to the lifts and rental shop, and restaurants, a little shop, and playgrounds can all be reached on foot. We came as three families and had a cozy stay, making use of the cinema room and playroom with Lego and a kids’ kitchen. Bring cables, a speaker, and a laptop if you want to have a movie night. Apartments Nr100 and up were very modern. They had two rooms, one with bunk beds and one with a queen bed, plus a shower and kitchen with plenty of space. There was a fridge, small freezer, dishwasher, and all the necessary appliances. Dishwasher tabs, cloths, and other supplies were provided, and the rooms even had a large dryer for ski shoes, gloves, and similar gear.
