For NOK 1000 (EUR 95) a night, I just can’t see the value in this hostel-like place, even with its good location. The single room was old and cramped, the bathroom very basic, and the walls thin. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels around the world and never had a shower connected to the sink and controlled from there. Breakfast had no hot food like meat balls or bacon.

The location is good, near the center, and there’s a pretty view. But the rooms are small, furnished as cheaply as possible, and clearly haven’t been restored for quite a while. I wouldn’t have been disappointed if it had been priced like a hostel.

This hotel’s location is wonderful. It’s on Vadsoya, the island in Vadso, joined by a road bridge, and restaurants and shops are only a few minutes’ walk away. The staff are super helpful and friendly, the rooms are cozy, and breakfast is great. A walk around the island in the midnight sun feels magical. I love this place and can’t wait to stay here again.

The first receptionist told me there was a sauna and to let reception know an hour before I wanted to use it. Later I asked if they could heat it so it’d be ready at 18, but the new receptionist said they didn’t even have a sauna. What the f...?

A cozy, inexpensive place where we slept well in comfortable beds. I’d heard people complain about breakfast, but it was okay for us. Good for birdwatchers, and there’s a great cultural walk just around the corner.
