We turned up without booking and couldn't get our EV charging at either of the town's chargers. After we booked a room and explained the problem, the owner's husband came out and charged the car for us. He also pointed us to a useful app for charging in western Norway. Everyone at the hotel was so kind and helpful. Really grateful to you all!

The breakfast had far more to choose from than the usual continental spread, and both the check-in staff and the people serving dinner were lovely, friendly and easy to chat with. Our room also had a balcony with seats. The fjord is only a couple of minutes away on foot, with a supermarket across the road and a petrol station about a minute away. I'm usually more into quiet, personal places than hotels, but Blix Hotell was a good stay and I'd come back. One small thing: the shower runs across the sloped bathroom floor, so it floods. Don't leave clothes on the floor.

The fjord is about 50 meters from the hotel, with a magnificent view of some of Norway's best scenery. I was there for a work dinner with a group of around 80. Handling a crowd that size can't be easy, but the staff did a great job, and both the service and food were exceptionally good.

We had my son's birthday dinner at the restaurant. The menu's pretty short, but what we ordered was good. They also made an off-menu salad for my vegetarian daughter and brought my son a festive dessert. The service was beyond what we expected and made the evening especially enjoyable. Thank you.

It's a small hotel, but I liked it and wouldn't mind coming back. The clean, comfortable suite had white walls and a wooden floor, and the lobby was simple and spacious. Dinner was delicious, and breakfast had plenty of choices. Take a walk around town for the Sognefjord views, highly recommended.
