Hotel Riverside

I’m surprised this hotel is rated three stars. The rooms had several problems, including the hot water and air conditioning. When we complained, the maintenance dai and reception ignored us, told us to stay in the same condition, and said, “tapai haru risayera kei hune wala xaina”. That’s no way to deal with a customer complaint. The AC remote wasn’t working, so they told us to switch it off at the wall. This seems worse than local budget hotels. Please don’t book here, or you’ll waste your money.

It was amazing to see a rhino relaxing right behind the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful with arranging activities, and I’d recommend the Tharu traditional dance, renting a mountain bike, and, of course, spending a day in the jungle. Breakfast was enough, though there weren’t many options. The shower wasn’t great, with hardly any pressure, and the water was quite cold.

The service was personal, good, and very accommodating. I’ve stayed here several times, most recently in October 2025, and it’s nice to see the place continuing to develop. There’s now a swimming pool, and they’re building a new high-rise close to the river. I’d personally have preferred something lower profile and more natural looking. I’ll definitely book here again on my next visit to Chitwan.

The natural surroundings and wildlife here made the stay feel like a special mix of comfort and adventure. I even saw a rhino calmly walking past the hotel grounds, which felt like a once-in-a-lifetime moment. In the evening, the sunsets were magical, with golden skies reflected over the river beside the hotel. The pool was clean and well kept, with a breathtaking river view. The staff were warm and professional, and genuinely cared about making our stay smooth and welcoming. I can’t wait to return, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
