Chareli Resort

Chareli Resort in Nagarkot is a real hidden gem, with a lovely atmosphere and consistently delicious food. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. For such an affordable price, the quality of hospitality made for a fantastic stay. I’d recommend it if you want a high-quality experience that won’t break the bank. 5/5!

The location is hard to beat: Chareli Resort sits among lush greenery in the peaceful hills of Nagarkot, with lovely mountain and valley views right from the property. It was such a wonderful escape from city life, and I had a great stay.

The location and rooms deserve two stars from me, but the service was awful. We called an hour before arriving and were told a room was available, then waited outside for over an hour while they said it was being cleaned. After hours, we finally got in. We ordered Thakali khana for lunch and were told it was fine. An hour later, staff said a picnic was happening and khana wouldn’t be served until 4pm, so we ordered fried rice instead after being promised it would take no more than 20 minutes. After another hour, we had to go to reception and ask. They told us to wait 10-15 more minutes. The fried rice finally came without pickles, and the sandwich arrived without fries. The toasted bread was tasteless too. We didn’t want to stay after all that, so we checked out. They charged us fairly for the food but unfairly for the room. Everything else was good, but the service deserves a negative rating. I feel sorry for the owner.

The view is beautiful, the staff are all very friendly, and the surroundings are even better than you’d expect. It’s a really good resort and affordable too.
