Living Hope Guest House

Alex and Sunita are lovely owners, happy to share lots of Nepal travel information and make your stay a great experience. They were flexible when we changed our plans a couple of times and didn’t get angry or ask us to pay extra. The guesthouse is clean and very comfortable, with big bedrooms and a rooftop terrace that’s a great breakfast spot. It’s in a calm area, not too busy, but still near the Ring Road for transport. If you want to relax in Kathmandu, stay at Living Hope Guesthouse. You won’t regret it.

The rooftop is a lovely quiet place to look out over the city. There are beautiful bedrooms, a kitchen you can use whenever you like, and space to meet people if you’re in the mood. The staff are easygoing and help however they can. They even brought in laundry I’d washed myself when rain was coming. I’d definitely stay here again.

I stayed for two months and really appreciated it. Alexander and Sunita are such kind, nice people, and they’ve made the guest house feel so comfortable that even the living room carpet seems sleepable! It’s clean and comfortable, in a calm area outside Kathmandu, with transport nearby for any direction. You can relax on the rooftop or spend time in a gym class whenever you like. Go soon, it might fill up!

After finding Sunita and Alex’s guest house in my first few days in Nepal, it became my base whenever I returned to Kathmandu during my 10 week research project. The owners welcomed me into their home and have always helped with whatever I needed, including the occasional delicious Nepali meal from Sunita. They know Nepal from both foreign and national perspectives, so their advice about what to do and how to do it in Kathmandu and beyond was really useful. The spacious building has been lovingly turned into a beautiful guest house, a peaceful place to come back to after the city’s bustle. I was unsure about the location at first, but soon saw how much was nearby, and how much nicer it was than polluted Thamel. It’s easy and cheap to take a motor bike or bus into town when needed. I’m very glad I found this place and would absolutely recommend it.
