Lumbini Heritage Home

The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were very clean. Copper sinks, taps, and toilets looked great. You can eat and have a drink on the rooftop, with a nice view over the city. This heritage sits quietly in a little square surrounded by houses, away from the main street. The people running it were lovely. We were there near the end of COVID, so things were quiet and easy, and we had fun meeting another couple from the Netherlands.

A sunny morning on the rooftop with a delicious, varied breakfast was a real treat, and you can refill water bottles with filtered water too. The rooms are bright, airy, and comfortable, with a rustic but modern feel. Bathrooms were spotless and in perfect condition, with hot showers. The young, inspired owners, Aman, Esther and staff, were a pleasure to spend time with. Their care shows in the restoration of this hundred year old building. A wonderfully run heritage home and guesthouse, highly recommended as a home away from home. Namaste.

The young owners were lovely and helped us with every request. We felt very comfortable here, and met some of the nicest people on our trip. It’s a quiet spot in the heart of patan, right beside the golden temple, with a view of the open square and only a two minute walk to the durbar square. The rooms are spacious and clean, with modern traditional decor, so you don’t bump your head on every doorway. Thank you.

I came back twice for the rooftop breakfast spot. The coffee was decent, and the simple food was freshly cooked and nicely presented. I didn’t stay at the guesthouse, though I saw that the rooms looked lovely. Highly recommend for a break from the hustle and bustle.
