The best part was getting to stay in Pradeep’s family home. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, thanks to Pradeep’s mum, and I loved chatting with her while practicing my Nepali. Pradeep has lived in Patan for a long time and shared great insight into the area and how it has changed. It was a warm, immersive stay away from the commercial chaos of Thamel. The place was very comfortable and in an excellent location. I loved it and will definitely be back!

The owner was incredibly friendly, kind, and helpful, and took us on a walking tour of Patan. He knows a lot about the area’s history. The rooms at hotel yamba were cozy, clean, and well furnished. We’ll definitely stay again next time we’re in kat.

The family hosting you are among the friendliest and kindest people I met in Nepal. It’s a very good value hotel near Lalitpur’s central square, on a calmer side alley with little outside noise. The rooms are spacious and cozy, with nice warm lighting, and the WiFi is stable and fast. There’s always hot water too. It gets cold inside the room in winter, though not as cold as other, more expensive hotels I’ve stayed in. Cleanliness isn’t really a thing in most of Nepal, and these rooms are no exception. The sheets are very old and the bathroom is basic, so if that makes you uncomfortable, book a boutique hotel instead. Breakfast is included and small but good, served on the roof terrace, and they make nice tea. I’d come back.

The Newari-style old building has been beautifully renovated, with all the amenities, and we loved our cozy room. The location was perfect, close to Durbar Square, and breakfast was so tasty. Pradeep, the owner, was wonderful: welcoming, attentive, and very kind. He greeted us with tea and fruit, then took the time to show us around and visit some temples. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it!
