Hari and his family made us feel very welcome, and Dipa’s cooking was some of the best food we had in Nepal. It was also very good value. We stayed three nights in the traditional timber house and loved the quiet farm and its natural surroundings. Hari took us on a full-day safari with his son and packed a delicious lunch. We were lucky enough to see lots of animals, including a leopard. He knows the park well and showed us some quieter, less touristy areas. We also walked with Bukku the dog to a nearby waterfall and saw more of the local farmland. The homestay is a little farther out, but easy enough to reach and felt authentic rather than touristy. We were very well cared for and would highly recommend this lovely family for a traditional rural stay. Lucie and Michael

Shanta Ghar suits travelers who want peace, character, and thoughtful hospitality. It’s a great choice for a quiet, authentic rural stay immersed in nature and local culture, rather than the feel of a conventional hotel.
For three unforgettable nights, my partner and I were treated like part of the family. The home, hospitality, and home-grown, home-cooked food were all beautiful, and it’s clear they take pride in what they do. If you want a traditional stay with something a little unique, I’d absolutely recommend it. Thanks for having us.
The homemade food was delicious, and we felt warmly welcomed into this beautiful traditional house. We had a great jungle safari walk, with lovely waterfalls and lunch at a camp inside the jungle. I’d highly recommend this place if you want to experience authentic Nepal.
We saw lots of Rhinos in Chitwan and spent wonderful days on the farm and in the surrounding area. Set among the rice paddies, this beautiful farm is run by a very likable family. Mom made the best food we had in Nepal, while Dad and the sons were great guides around the jungle and farmland. If you’re after something adventurous and authentic, I highly recommend it.
