High Ground Inn and Rooftop Restaurant

This was probably our favorite place to stay on the whole Nepal trip. We ended up extending to two nights and still didn’t want to go. The staff were kind, funny, and helpful, and we had lots of great conversations with them. They helped us plan a day trip along the ridgeline to Kasikot, which made for a beautiful hike. The balcony rooms have lovely valley views, and the staff made the stay so much fun. Their banana lassis were our favorite of the trip too!

A fabulous little hotel with lovely views and great food. The family were warm and welcoming. As a solo woman traveling, I felt looked after: they checked that I was comfortable and were always happy to chat.

The view was quite good, with the lake visible directly from the room. The rooms were clean and okay for the price, and I really liked the dressing mirror table, though it was too cold and they needed to provide extra blankets. The owner was very friendly, but the food needs a lot of improvement. I didn’t like the sewale, momo, or thukpa, and breakfast was just okay.

The staff were cordial, and the room and bathroom were clean. We could see the valley from the rooms, and it’s very close to the View tower. On our first day we didn’t get the balcony room we’d booked because the host hadn’t checked the Expedia website.
