The staff were lovely, and Bips at the bar was especially nice, easily one of the best bar girls around. I had a private room for a few nights and it was one of the best I’ve stayed in. The hostel’s got an incredible atmosphere, too, with a gorgeous rooftop panorama over the Himalayas and the lakeside. I’ll be back in Pokhara and definitely staying at kiwi backpackers again. Thanks, guys! X

Madan Chhetri (IG @_______bmadans) made our five-day Mardi Himal Trek a real highlight. He was funny, full of energy, taught us a lot, and shared stories about Nepalese culture. We arranged the trek through the hostel, and couldn’t have asked for a better guide. The rooms were clean, and breakfast, laundry, activities, and the other services were all top notch. Wonderful hostel. We’d come back anytime. Thanks for the memories, Kiwi and Madan!

Sarduba Tibetan Restaurant is only about a 10-minute walk away, and the food there is ridiculously good. The sweetest couple runs it, so definitely try it! Back at Kiwi, I found it really easy to meet people in the cozy rooftop common area. It was such a social hostel, and I made an amazing group of friends. The staff were kind, welcoming, and helped with anything we needed. Kiwi was my favorite hostel ever :)

We booked private rooms and stayed at Kiwi Hostel for six nights, split between before and after our trek. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful, and gave us great recommendations. It’s quiet and peaceful, with Phewa Lake about a 10-minute walk away. On our first morning, we caught a magical golden mountain sunrise from our window. Breakfast was provided, the laundry service was convenient and well handled, and booking paragliding through the hostel worked out to be an amazing experience. It made a cozy base for our time in Pokhara.

The staff were the best part for me. They’re welcoming, help book activities, and try to sort out other problems too. During my stay they organized a free trip to a rice harvesting festival, which was amazing. The rooms are comfy, there’s hot water and a laundry area, and breakfast is free. You can also join morning yoga for a small fee. I’d really recommend this hostel.
