Lord's Palace Hotel

The hotel and its facilities were good, but the sea was dirty about half the time we were there. Lord's Palace is right by Kyrenia Port, where big ferries and lots of smaller boats regularly pass. If swimming in the sea matters to you, this probably isn't the best choice. Our much bigger issue was my AirPods Pro going missing from our room. We stayed seven nights with a large family group, and I'd left them in the room and never taken them elsewhere. One evening I noticed they were gone. I used the 'Find My' app for my Apple products right away, and it showed the AirPods somewhere in Kyrenia, far from the hotel. Reception told us that location matched the staff lodge in town. We didn't want to accuse a particular person, but it seemed clear to us that the hotel was responsible. We'd paid a lot for a 5-star hotel and never expected theft, yet Lord's Palace wouldn't take responsibility. Security told us to report it to the police, so we spent our own time and money going to the station. Police confirmed the location was the staff lodge and questioned a couple of staff members, but said they couldn't search the whole lodge because too many people lived there. They advised us to speak to the hotel about compensation. My husband and sister-in-law spent HOURS being passed from one hotel representative to another. In the end, Guest Relations said they wouldn't compensate us because that would mean admitting to the crime. We were left asking what else there was to admit, when the hotel had told us the AirPods were at its staff lodge and police had confirmed it. We had a massage and a couple of coffees on the room, which my husband refused to pay for, but the hotel showed no willingness to take responsibility or find a solution.

I've stayed here twice now, and I love this hotel. It won't be my last visit. Kyrenia is a beautiful town with interesting history and friendly people. Muhammed suggested a pasta dish from the new menu, "quail candy pasta and lobster spagetti," and it was really delicious 😋. The Sky Lounge is the place to be in Kyrenia!

Everything was very well organized, and the service and food were incredible. Dear Nimet, it was a pleasure meeting you. We'd like to see more managers like this out in the field, and we'll visit you again.

This is specifically about the casino's slot machines. I've been playing here for about two years and used to be satisfied overall, with the usual ups and downs. Some waiters were friendly and responsible, while others were lazy boors. Lately, though, both the service and the game have been disgusting. Only 15% of the service staff seem to know how to do their jobs, and the game itself leaves a lot to be desired. You can play for 200, 300, or 500 dollars in a visit. I know some days you're unlucky, but the machine used to keep you engaged, take your mind off everything, and give you the game and adrenaline you came for. You could just enjoy it. Now that experience is denied. It's a pity the casino has let its high standards change so much.
