Newton Heights

The hosts were so friendly and accommodating, and the apartment was comfortable, clean, and well equipped. We stayed in the Kingfisher apartment and it ended up being our favorite place in New Zealand. The big balcony had plenty of seating, a private hot tub, and gorgeous views through huge doors that opened to the breeze. The decor felt just right, and blackout curtains made for good sleep, which mattered with the late sunsets while we were there. Town is about a 10-15 minute walk, with an uphill return that I found very manageable. My one suggestion would be to add a kitchen sink if possible. I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

The walk into town was easy for us, though it’s uphill on the way back. There’s parking if you’d rather drive. The apartment was our favorite stay on our NZ trip: clean, comfortable, and gorgeous, with a large balcony, lots of seating, a private hot tub, and lovely views. The decor and overall feel were just right. Big windows let us take in the scenery, and thick room-darkening shades made bedtime comfortable. The hosts were kind and gracious.

Brendan and Gail made us feel like part of their family, welcoming us with open arms and doing everything they could to make our stay special. We spent two nights with them, along with my partner’s parents, who were visiting from overseas. The BnB was stunning, and the stay felt unique, comfortable, and memorable. We wanted to show them the beautiful South Island, and they also got to experience the genuine, caring Kiwi hospitality we hadn’t expected. Brendan and Gail are wonderful hosts. Thank you, and we can’t wait to visit again.

Gail’s lovely cooking and the relaxing decor made the apartment and its view even more memorable. Brendan’s kind smile and manner added to the warmth, and they were always happy to help with anything. Their hospitality and kindness were a lovely finish to our time in New Zealand. It was a pleasure getting to know you both, and I hope we can come back. Thank you!
