Paul’s wine explanations were lovely, and Sue’s Boss cheese platter was fabulous. We enjoyed the view from our table inside, though there’s also an outdoor option. The tasting was perfect, better than my experiences in Sonoma and Napa Valley in California. Highly recommend Grey Ridge!

We had a really nice conversation about the wines and appreciated the work that goes into each bottle. Paul greeted us warmly and talked passionately about the wines and how he and his wife Sue run the winery. We were glad we found the place and stopped in for a tasting. The wines were lovely, so we bought a few bottles. We’ll definitely call in again to top up when we’re back in Alexandra.

The apartment was spacious and nicely furnished, and the location was great. We stayed in the B&B and really liked it. Breakfast was tasty, with homemade preserves from their own fruit. Try to arrive in time for the vineyard tour and tasting. The wines were delicious, and the tour was full of useful information.

We spent three nights at Grey Ridge and would happily recommend staying there. Paul and Sue are really lovely. We had dinner with them, and both the food and the conversation were excellent. The wine was exceptional too.

Paul and Sue, congratulations, and thanks so much for making us feel at home. Nana and Gus My husband and I came across Grey Ridge by chance during a South Island road trip last August. Paul said we were the first visitors of the season, since winter brings fewer tourists. He sat down with us straight away, served his lovely Pinots and gave us a wonderful lesson on winemaking. We talked about the wines, production, the climate, the South Island landscape, and how he and Sue run the business mostly by themselves. We felt so welcome, and Paul patiently answered all our questions. We’d recommend a visit to anyone who enjoys good wine, especially if you like learning about other cultures and ways of life.
