After five days tramping and four days biking, walking into Mataura Lodge in Athol felt like such a treat. The place is beautiful, and inside we were greeted by lovely decor that Jason and Scott have clearly got just right. It was restful, calming, and very comfortable. Thank you, Jason and Scott.

Jason was so friendly and did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable. The five of us had a really good time, and only wished we could've stayed longer. Many thanks. Mike

On our Around the Mountain biking trip, this was a sunny, relaxing place to recharge. We spotted a particularly good-sized trout, along with several others, near the Mataura River. The hosts were great, the bed was great, and there was plenty of comfortable seating inside and out. We'd recommend it without hesitation.

A great stop during the Around the Mountains bike ride. We were comfortable, and it was lovely to cook our own barbecue with the supplied steak and vegetables.

We arrived after a long day on the road and this was just the place we needed. The beds were amazingly comfortable, and the decor was both interesting and cozy. Jason was helpful and easy to deal with. The next day he kindly called to check on our stay and wish us well for the rest of our travels. We'd love to return and would definitely recommend it.
