Clean and tidy, with really good value, and it's a great location for visiting the CBD without being too busy or loud outside at night. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the staff are friendly. The owner is quite a character. A good place to practice your French too!

We booked four nights and left after just one because sleep was impossible. We could hear every word from the two women next door late into the night, then doors slammed and people shouted from around 7am. The walls were paper thin. The bedroom smelled awful, with the mattress, pillows and carpet reeking of stale sweat despite the apparently fresh linen. Opening the window wasn't an option either, since the room was right above the trash and the spot where people smoked cigarettes and weed. The kitchen stank and was messy with flies, and people drank beer in camper vans parked two metres from the entrance. The location was okay, and it's budget accommodation, but those things still weren't what made us leave. The room had been the last one available in that part of town, which should have been a warning. We trusted the decent reviews instead of looking elsewhere, and regretted it. After several chats, call attempts and emails to Booking.com, the manager agreed to refund 20% for the three unused nights, less than one night's cost. We felt it was a small but at least some kind of gesture. The money never arrived. Never again.

The staff were helpful and easy to talk to. Hi Alexandra! There are quite a few long-stayers, but I didn't feel unwelcome. I chatted with several of them, and they're sociable and like hanging out in the common room. Go talk to them, it was one of the more fun hostels I've stayed in. They still respect quiet time for people who are sleeping.

A tiny hostel with lots of nice French people and plenty of charm. The kitchen is small, but it works. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and you'll find nice people to share a beer or two or three with.
