Carinda and her team, Damian and Sumeet, made the stay feel warm and welcoming, almost like being with family. Carinda, the manager, genuinely listens and makes sure guests’ needs are looked after. The customer service was extraordinary, and the staff were so friendly. The location worked especially well for me since I rented a car. It’s an ideal place to stay in Auckland.

You can walk to lots of sights from here, and for the price it’s a great Auckland option. The room was lovely with a nice view, and it was clean. Staff were helpful too. Just keep in mind the hotel sits on a steep hill if getting around is difficult for you.

The city centre is a little far away, but the affordable price would bring me back. I spent a week here in Auckland and had a comfortable stay, with clean, roomy rooms and a bed that let me catch up on proper sleep. The Lone Star food was pretty average, though the restaurant staff were attentive. Front desk service varied, some seemed to enjoy their work and others were just there to check people in and out.

We had a lovely buffet breakfast at Lone Star, with both hot and cold choices, and the location made it easy to explore the upper and central city. There are plenty of restaurants and attractions nearby. Mercure Auckland Queen St, opposite Meyers Park on Queen St, was just right for an overnight staycation in a king room with a balcony. The bed was super comfortable, the pillows were soft and fluffy, and the ensuite rain shower was beautiful. Highly recommended!

The room was lovely and very clean, and I really enjoyed the stay. Staff were friendly, professional and clearly well trained. They have to go into the car park themselves rather than guests having direct access, which made me feel a bit sorry for them. I got a honeymoon celebration card when it should have been a birthday one, but I’d happily return.
