Dovecote House Bed and Breakfast

The garden view room was clean and beautiful, and the BnB is so close to the beach and shops and food. We had an amazing first night of our honeymoon at do ecote house. The hosts were the nicest, most thoughtful people, and the meals were wonderful. Dinner there is definitely worth having along with the included breakfast. We loved the gorgeous gardens and all the cats we could cuddle. We’d recommend this fantastic place to anyone.

The hosts were the best part for me: delightfully friendly, accommodating, and happy to give you space or spend time together, whichever you prefer. I travel a lot, so calling this the best B&B stay I’ve ever had means a lot. It’s a beautiful, comfortable, lived-in old-fashioned home full of custom, artistic details that kept making me look twice. I must have taken hundreds of photos. The host has a horticulture degree, and the breathtaking garden is clearly designed and cared for with love. The gate opens onto a paved path straight to the beach, and the location is spectacular. The food is wonderful, so tell your hosts what you like or have always wanted to try. The current chief resident is the cutest kitten ever. There’s a hot tub and on-site massage for a stress-reduction weekend or couples retreat, and a lovely guest lounge with nice Wi-Fi if you want to work in solitude with your laptop. If you’re visiting Auckland, this is the place to stay. Seriously, you’ll catch yourself calling it home.

What a lucky find. Nathan and Tim made our stay cosy and comfortable, the food was wonderful, and the gardens were beautiful. We loved cuddling the little kitten, Halyn.

Nathan and Tim have made the place so beautiful. The house is really nice and clean, and our room looked out over the garden. We were so happy staying there. It was just that good, nothing more to say. We’ll definitely see you again.
