La Quinta by Wyndham Parnell Auckland

The room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean, and the complimentary tea and coffee were nice. Staff were efficient and friendly. The hotel is new and easy to reach from Parnell station, with the CBD also a short walk away. It's a quiet, safe neighbourhood, which I preferred to the CBD, now full of homeless people. Since the hotel sits on a hill, you can take the elevator down to ground level and use a side door that gets you close to beach st on the way to the CBD. Very handy. Just note that there aren't staff at night, though there's a phone to call. Highly recommended.

Raj the manager and the rest of the staff were friendly and accommodating. We arrived early, and checking us in then was no problem. The rooms were very clean when we arrived and were serviced during our stay, and the beds were super comfortable. The location worked perfectly for getting to the tennis, which was also only a short walk away.

Raj at reception deserves a special mention. He goes well beyond the usual, and the reception service was excellent. This modern hotel is good value and centrally placed for Parnell and the Domain. The apartments have what you need to cook, relax, and live in them, although some are a bit small. There's also a handy little gym on site. Housekeeping hasn't been as on the ball as it used to be, though usually they've been beyond reproach. Highly recommend.

After our 13-hour flight into Auckland, we were exhausted, and Raj, the manager, made settling in easy. He was warm and friendly, gave us excellent service, and offered an upgrade, a very early check-in so we could sleep, and on-site parking. He even showed us through the garage to explain the stacking parking. We really appreciated all of that, as well as his tips for good local restaurants. The suite was clean, the bed comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, and it had a washer and dryer. The hotel is well located, about a 15-minute walk from the waterfront.
