The Manor felt like a home away from home for me, and it was a perfect base for my friends after their exciting, demanding sightseeing trip around the South Island. We spent a wonderful week there with friends visiting from Belgium. Its garden was charming and beautifully cared for, and the atmosphere was lovely from the moment we came through the gate, into the welcoming hallway, and were shown to our rooms. Our rooms were side by side, quiet enough for proper rest and deep sleep in the middle of the city, yet right in the heart of Ponsonby. Breakfast across the road each morning was easy, and we enjoyed a leisurely stroll along it, the outstanding nearby Gallery, and special finds at Public Record and neighbouring Greenpoint Florist. We also explored K Rd and more little Galleries. At night, it was easy to find somewhere to eat, with Farina and Beau standing out. We'd recommend the Manor to anyone. Thank you, Hongying, for creating such a delightful and elegant hotel.

The room was boiling when we got it, and took 45+ minutes to cool down. There was no parking, just instant coffee for the morning, and the road was VERY busy. At least there's a church next door where you can repent for all the swear words you're going to say. We had a reservation, but they relied on us to prove it.

Hongying was a delightful host and did everything she could to help. When our dates and check-in plans changed, she made it as easy as possible. I have a disability, and she made sure my room suited my needs, then checked in to see if anything else would help. We found the Manor while looking for a more local place in Ponsonby, and couldn't have been happier with our stay. It's a beautiful place, with lovely rooms and spacious spots to relax, chat, or meet other travelers if you want. The thoughtful touches made a difference, from the little library and comfortable sofas to tea and coffee in the kitchen and a separate makeup towel in the bathroom. Everything was considered for comfort. Truly the best place to stay in Ponsonby, and probably all of Auckland. 6/5 stars if I could.

The manager was so personable, and we're glad we found this place. The rooms are comfortable and well furnished, with much more personality than a hotel or motel. I'd consider splurging on the king bed room with a porch, it's lovely to enjoy the city skyline at night.

It's a lovely old house in a great Auckland location, and the host was very helpful. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated, with great facilities and a super-comfy bed, lovely high-quality linen and pillows. There are a few different room layouts to choose from, and free parking right at the doorstep. I'd stay again.
