Quest Mount Eden

I spent a week here in May and was very happy with the stay. The room had a comfortable bed, a big bathroom, and a washer and dryer. There was lots of closet space, plus an iron and ironing board. The kitchen had a dishwasher, hot plate, and everything needed to cook a decent meal. It was clean, and daily room cleaning was available if you wanted it. The staff were friendly and helpful. Even when I checked in quite late, the AI voice service, I assume, worked well to let me in. Great central spot too, with plenty of good places to eat a short walk away.

We booked two interconnecting rooms for the Miltary Tattoo. They were clean, quiet, and comfortable, and reception was really lovely. The little bottle of brut and chocolate welcoming us to the hotel and Tattoo was a nice touch. Eden Park was an easy walk, with plenty of buses as well, including a 20 minute ride into the city. We also found Good Home, a lovely gastro pub five minutes away with first rate food and service. Would definitely return.

The room itself was nice and comfortable, but I wouldn't recommend it to light sleepers. I could hear people in the hall, nearby doors shutting, and a low air circulation hum that came in an odd rhythm. We stayed four nights on the second floor, and the room wasn't cleaned once. I had to ask for extra towels, which was a struggle because the front desk said the room would be serviced anyway.

Quest is my favorite hotel. The kitchen is always spotless, the rooms are consistently clean, and I appreciate the practical touches, like getting just the right number of towels and bins placed where you need them. Whichever city I'm visiting, I feel I can rely on Quest, so it's always my first accommodation choice.
