The house and grounds are lovely, and it’s a very comfortable place to stay. We really enjoyed the hot tub. The beach access description is misleading. You can walk there, but the road is sticky mud and covered in cow manure. We tried because the property said it was walkable, but I wouldn’t do it again. It feels tucked away from the beach. We visited in January when it wasn’t raining, and I’d park somewhere else along the road if heading to the beach.

The hosts run this place locally, and you can tell it’s a passion project. They’re restoring the grounds with native plants. The cottage is beautiful and well equipped, set in a gorgeous spot, with a covered front deck where you can sit with a glass of wine and hear the waves. It’s close to everything Paparoa National Park has to offer. Highly recommend.

We picked this place for our anniversary and couldn’t have chosen better. It’s a bit away from everything, though Greymouth is a 20 minute drive and the scenery makes the trip worth it. The little house was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely bed and a great TV in the room. It’s private and very quiet, though you can sometimes hear vehicles on the road. The hot tub was especially relaxing on a cold day, and we even had a nap afterward. It’s in a beautiful little cabin too. Everything we needed was there, including plenty of towels, a hair dryer, tea and coffee. It was all nicely presented, and the hosts communicated well and made us feel welcome. Great value for money. We’ll definitely be back.

We loved the hot tub so much that we stayed an extra night. This little gem is just a few minutes from a dreamy, deserted beach, and the photos don’t do it justice. The owners were lovely and super professional. It’s a romantic, comfortable spot in a beautiful area with lots of great walks. Thank you!
