Simon was really welcoming and helpful, and we had a great chat about rugby, Aussie Rules Football and ice hockey. The location is handy for shops, restaurants and groceries, and the room had everything we needed. It was clean, the bed was comfy, and we could park right beside our unit. The shower was one of the smallest I've used 😸, but there was plenty of hot water and nice soap and hair products.

The owner and staff were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Everything provided was good quality, and there were more items than at similar motels. The facilities were excellent, clean and comfortable.

The niece was as happy as pie with the complimentary chocolate fish. We booked directly with them, and my brother-in-law got a discount back when we checked in. The beds were generously sized and so comfortable, the local bathroom products were divine, and the kitchen had everything you need. No surprise they had no vacancy lit up when we arrived. Deserves 5 stars, not 3.

We got a free upgrade to a 3 bedroom suit, and it had all the amenities we needed. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, too. Brilliant service at Colonial Motel. Top class!!

Simon gave us so much detail about the area and the country, along with a place to stay. This was our first stop on the South Island, and I can't recommend the location, town, place, and especially the host enough!
