The room and whole property were spotless, and it’s an easy walk to a great restaurant with the best blue cod. From the moment we arrived, Andy, the owner, went above and beyond to make everything perfect. He was friendly, helpful, and clearly cared about making guests feel welcome. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend it.

We had a lovely stay. The place is right by the beach, with a nice trail leading down to it, and our host was incredibly friendly and accommodating.

What a find. We’ll definitely come back and make it an annual tradition for the opening of Bluff oyster season. This vintage hotel is well kept, with clean rooms, breakfast, and delightful staff. The oceanfront location is hard to beat, with a restaurant just steps away and easy access to a paved coastal trail for a seaside walk. It’s across the street from a popular scenic lookout, so quite a few people came and went during the day. We were there on a Saturday, though, and it was quiet at night. We even saw a huge ship passing on its way to the port. A really cool spot.

Sunrise over the harbour was breathtaking, and the hotel sits by the famous directional sign pole. Oyster Cove restaurant next door was superb. The decor and comfort were truly magnificent, with the finest finishings, and the hospitality was outstanding, so warm and welcoming. Total luxury at the very bottom of NZ. Glorious stay.
